We are a family dedicated to all the best things in life and at the top of that list are our AKC certified German Shepherds, Venom and Vana! Located on a tranquil mountain top on the remote slopes of Haleakalā Maui is our farm, Family of Light, where our German shepherds thrive on a life fit for the royalty that they truly are!

My husband harvests Maui Axis-deer venison from our multi acre, off grid-home which has been their main source of food. Since puppies, their diet has also included fresh caught fish, goat kefir blueberries smoothies, organic garden vegetables, herbs and whole grains. This diet has optimized the health of Venom and Vana so significantly to where we believe good health isn't something to strive for-it is a mandatory way of life.

Our German shepherds diet isn't the only thing that puts them in a category of their own – the socializing and training they have experienced living this diverse, active life has been incredibly beneficial. Venom and Vana are very familiar with the sounds of quads driving around the property, excavators tilling the land, and above all they have been trained to be the guardians and companions of all the farm animals - chickens, goats, cattle and cats. Not only do they protect our animal family but also myself, my husband and our five year old daughter, never leaving our sides and being a complete part of everything we do daily. They are not just our pets, they are our family.

Along with the automatic training that comes with moment to moment life on the farm, we take the time out to engage in formal one-on-one training to ensure basic commands are adhered to. This ensures a well-rounded German Shepherd able to adapt to any situation needed, utilizing the already innate intelligence that comes with this breed.

Venom and Venom are incredibly intelligent, loving family members, who are also working dogs and guard dogs – filling all roles necessary!
Venom, Father (100lbs)
Venom is a loyal lover and cuddler. He is a big bear who gives the best hugs! Venom is a long coat shepherd resulting in a wider built, shorter stance, and thicker coat. As much as he is loving and affectionate his huge size, powerful strength, and deep bark make him an extremely fierce guard dog. Venom loves going on hikes on our mountainous farm, shepherding the chickens, playing with Vana and especially one on one time with his Papa. He is a great father and loves hanging out with his puppies, letting them climb on him and even treat his fluffy coat as a chew toy!
Vana, Mother (75lbs)
Vana is a smart playful girl who follows us around every where we go. She loves playing with Venom, going on adventures, shepherding the goats, and doing activities with the girls. She loves mental stimulation tasks/training, fetch and digging. She is a sweet angel, however just like Venom, she’s highly skilled in guarding and protecting. Vana is a very caring, dedicated mother using her loyal nature to tend to them around the clock. Both dogs love the water and swim daily in a homemade pond on the property.
It is special that Venom is a longer coat and Vana is a shorter coat two different AKC German Shepherds coming together to create a one-of-a-kind German Shepherd puppy!

Our goal since the beginning has been to optimize the already pure genetics of Venom and Vana with their diet, attention& farm lifestyle so we can unite you with your dream German Shepherd who is capable of living their best life with you. Whatever form that may be in- a family companion/protector, a shepherd/animal livestock guardian, and ultimately the best asset and greatest best friend a human could have.
We believe these puppies deserve the very best start in life. From birth our puppies are surrounded by attentive care. Daily interactions with children and various animals, engaging in challenging terrain (hills, rocks, thick brush) only strengthening their physique. As well as plenty of opportunities to experience the sights, sounds, and activities of a working property. This early exposure helps build confidence and prepares them for their future roles. Also being nourished daily after mothers’ milk by homemade puppy food straight from the farm ensuring a healthy gut microbiome. This unique foundation is crucial for the lifelong health of your dog in preventing things like allergies, inflammation, arthritis, cancer, hip dysplasia and so on. Cultivating the most natural path to ensure the path for you and your pup is a wholesome happy one forevermore.
